No Shooting on Ilkley Moor
The best known area of open space in Yorkshire will now be reverberating to the sound of guns as Bradford Council has sold the shooting rights for the next 10 years.
Cerys Roberts shooting campaigner for the League said: 'Ilkley Moor was gifted
to the public in 1893 for the public pleasure - this right has been sold off to
the highest bidder and now local people will be denied access to their land whilst
gangs of shooters kill birds for fun. Even at this stage I would urge anyone who
is concerned by these developments to register a complaint.'
