Volunteering to help animals

We have a number of volunteer opportunities for passionate animal advocates. Partnering with like-minded individuals, together we can make the voice of animals louder, to ensure that they are heard. Together we can create a kinder society for animals and ensure that cruel ‘sports’ are a thing of the past.

Volunteering at our wildlife sanctuaries

The League owns nine wildlife sanctuaries located around Exmoor, Dartmoor and the Quantock Hills – in the heart of heavy hunting areas – and animals are attracted to these safe havens because of the abundance of trees, food and shelter that reflect their natural habitat. We have volunteers roles from Butterfly, Bird and Mammal Surveyor to a general sanctuaries volunteer.

If you volunteer with our sanctuaries team, will learn about nature and conservation from our knowledgeable staff, learn new skills, meet like-minded people and spend time in the outdoors surrounded by an abundance of wildlife living free from persecution. 

We also have Corporate Volunteering opportunities available for businesses and employees, to engage with nature and help protect our precious wildlife for future generations.

Joining a League Supporter Group

We have an active Supporter Group network around the country.  Our Supporter Groups organise a variety of events and activities to get promote our campaigns, including street stalls, leaflet distribution to raise awareness and encouraging local residents to contact their MP.
